I hate giving reviews if I've only been once, but since I'm ever hardly in that area, I feel I must. Starting with the bad first, the eating area is small for how busy it gets but still roomy enough (I'm a big boy), and the food did take a long time to arrive (approximately 15-20 minutes). However it was all worth it because I had the best souvlaki I've ever had! Got the pork souvlaki with extra sauce and tomatoes and sure enough it was accurate and delicious. I got potato salad as a side and it tasted like it was made in-house. I added mustard to it because it was slightly bland though (don't knock mustard in your potato salad until you try it, it's awesome)! Free refills and a market in the store in case you wanted some ingredients for your own Greek cooking. When I'm in the area again, I will stop by for some more choices and maybe revise the review.

This is really a 4.5 star review for me. I really enjoy Spiro's for their Greek Salad. The small Greek Salad is big enough for a meal for one person. I made the mistake of getting a large Greek Salad and I was eating it for days. I have been coming to Spiro's sporadically for close to 10 years, and the salad is always consistently delicious. I really haven't strayed from too much besides the Greek Salad, because whenever I do, I'm just disappointed! I chose a 4 star review rather than a 5 star review due to the limited seating area Spiro's has. When you enter Spiro's restaurant, it's connected to the market. And you very much get the feeling that you are still in the market when you enter the restaurant. The wine selection (yum!) is right there along with a lot of other goods. There are a handful of uncomfortable tables in a corner of the restaurant area, so not much options if you're looking to eat there. But if you want take-out Greek, you should definitely come here!

The food is delicious! I love the dolmas, lemon chicken soup, and chicken souvlaki. I've never had food here I didn't love. Their greek salad is amazing too. They also have a fantastic little deli/ grocery area with reasonable prices. Minus one star for the lady who takes to go orders. Her tone is abrasive, I've worked in food service before and know how stressful lunch rush can be, but it doesn't excuse poor customer service. In person she's fantastic and efficient, but I've heard her yell at customers to speak up and ask them if "that's it?" through the phone before.

Love this place! Great deli. Classic Italian Hoagie is the bomb. Great place to pick up a few basic groceries and produce as well.

The prices are great and the food fresh and delicious. I enjoyed the lamb and a Greek salad. Feels like fast food but it is not, they bring it to your table and everythinng is fresh.

Short and sweet - just not a fan. Every time I have been in staff is not friendly and service is slow. Gyros are chewy and hummus is expensive. I know it's a local favorite I just cannot figure out why.

Great little greek shop, tiny, but has a nice boutique grocery shop attached. For the price it can't be beat.

It's worth noting that this is an awesome greek/meditteranean market as well as a restaurant. (There's actually more market than restaurant). I often end up picking up some odd greek choco-treat or wafer cookies while waiting for my sandwich to be completed. They have an incredible selection of both. I come here for lunch now and then - and they do it up right. Love the gyros and other deli sandwiches. However, the dining area is more like an afterthought and not a place for having a nice relaxing meal. Everything I've had has been good...nothing exceptional or especially notable, but a fine lunch option. It can get hectic during the lunch hour for sure. Family run with a great, friendly staff up front and in the back.

Yelp lists Spiro's as an Italian restaurant. It's more of a Greek restaurant. The Greek food is authentic and delicious. The Greek salad, with a generous scoop of Potato salad in the middle, is fresh and tasty. The deli and produce market attached features some of the freshest produce in the St. Pete area. Also, the selection of imported sauces, cheeses, wine and other products is awesome. The prices are reasonable and the service is fast and friendly.

Beware the number listed here is wrong! It is 727-384-0750! Good old fashioned mom and pop type place. Deli, restaurant, bakery etc...the staff is friendly and helpful. Located in a very convenient spot near Publix so you can make it a part of one grocery run. The grub is fantastic and it is difficult to make a wrong choice. What an Italian/Greek deli, restaurant, bakery should be.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

Greek Cuisine

Greek food is a fine melody of the finest pressed olive oil, fresh fermented bread, colorful vegetables, juicy meat, sea food all cooked in spices and fresh rosemary. The people from Greek were great scholars who aimed to excel in everything they do. The results are quite visible in their food as they are the inventors of olive oil which is beneficial to health. Greeks also made different type of wines from the best quality of grapes fermented in controlled environment.

Today, you can find hundreds of restaurants offering authentic Greek food or popularly termed as Mediterranean cuisine in New York city alone. People wait in line to taste the exotic Greek dishes like saganaki, taramasalata, souvlaki, loukoumades, spanakopita, moussaka, and many more. One thing which most people like about these authentic Greek dishes is abundant use of lemon juice, olive oil, fresh rosemary and sea salt. A smart mix of few ingredients can virtually take you on the pebble streets of beautiful city of Greece.

For those who don't have time to enjoy fine dining should try tasting the famous souvlaki with pita which is type of meat dish, also a trademark Greek fast food. For those who are vegetarian, or vegan can try different versions of Greek Salad. So, if you wish to enjoy a hearty yet healthy meal that tastes divine then try dining at the best Greek restaurant in your city. Greek cuisine not only tastes good but also help maintain your body in a natural way through healthy diet.
